STEM-M Aerobatic Pilots Association Requirements 

The STEM Aerobatic Pilots Association requirements are designed to assure each assessed pilot has the background and skills necessary to provide be the best representative possible. Below are the basic requirements to receive an accreditation from SAPA.


1) Have a degree or equivalent related experience in one of the following areas:

Acoustics

Aerospace Engineering 

Applied and Computational Mathematics

Applied Optics

Biochemistry

Biology

Civil Engineering 

Chemistry

Computer Engineering

Computer Science

Electrical Engineering

Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Manufacturing Engineering

Materials Science

Mathematics

Mechanical Engineering

Medical Physics

Meteorology

Physics

Robotics

Statistics

System and Data Security


2) Be active in the SAPA program. Speak or present at 50% of available STEM Airshow events flown.


3) Be current on SAPA program accreditation. Requires proof of participation by STEM program managers to the pilot. A list of participation of events must be submitted to SAPA by November 15th of each year to remain current for the upcoming Airshow season and receive you accreditation for that year.
